Update B17 is scheduled to release on the night of October 19th-20th.

In addition to preparing for the Steam release, it includes a rework to Tavern quest system and ship upgrades. The full list of changes is available below.
Please note that the list of changes is preliminary and may change by the time the update is released.

STEAM RELEASE AND SERVERS

First of all, we'd like to remind you that the Steam Demo week is coming to an end, and World of Sea Battle is releasing there soon!
In this regard, update B17 will bring a server selection feature to the game. Currently, you'll see two options in this list:
◈ RU1 – the "old" server, which was the only one available pre-Steam Demo access
◈ EU1 – the "new" server. If you played the Steam demo, your progress will be saved there.
Access to the EU1 server via the standalone client will open on October 21st, coinciding with the game's release on Steam.
Update B17 will not affect the current Steam demo; the new features will appear in the Steam client along with the release.
Once again, we would like to point out that your progress, possessions, and world state on the RU1 server will not be affected in any way.
Furthermore, we have also improved localization in all available languages ​​and adjusted the starting tutorial for new players.

INTERFACE

◈ Updated icons used on the ship stats panel in port
◈ Captain skills window has been updated. Filters have been added instead of tabs
◈ A new minigame has been added for collecting loot at sea
◈ Many new tooltips have been added
◈ All fonts in the game have been unified into a consistent style
◈ Updated loading screens
◈ Updated cannon tooltips
◈ Improved contextual hints for quest markers on the map
◈ The display of regions with a modifier for new players on the world map has been improved

UPGRADES

All upgrades will now only have one level. This new unified effect is in most cases equivalent to level 2 in the old system.
Every ship built after the update will have a sail slot and two upgrade slots unlocked from the start. Two more slots will be unlocked by gaining experience.
All ships will receive a sixth slot for a special upgrade. This slot only unlocks after completely researching all available ship branches and allows you to fine-tune your vessel to suit your playstyle. The list of upgrades that can be installed there is similar to other slots, but such installation applies small penalties to the ship's stats.

TAVERN AND QUESTS

The Tavern quest system has been redesigned. Three quest categories are now available.
You receive three random quests in each of these categories. After completing one quest in a category, you will be offered three new quests in that category. It's possible to refresh the list without completing a quest by paying scrolls.
Some quests will now be designated as "gold" — they are more difficult but also yield significantly better rewards.
We've reworked the NPS target selection algorithm for quests. NPS's located closer to the player are now more likely to be chosen as targets.
Rum is no longer used for receiving quests.

EQUIPMENT PRESETS

A preset feature has been added to the game, allowing you to save different ship loadouts and quickly switch between them.
You can create and switch between presets in the hold window while in port. They can store both individual components and the entire ship's equipment: hold contents, ammunition, upgrades, cannons, consumables, crew, and special crew.

OTHER CHANGES

◈ Attacks on Imperial-controlled ports (i.e., uncaptured ports) will no longer award Influence points
◈ An in-game notification will now appear before the server restarts or maintenance starts
◈ The state of forts and the damage inflicted on them will now be saved when the server restarts
◈ The visuals of the ports of Masadora, El Tigre, Pirate City, and Saint Jean have been improved; new models of environmental objects have been added for them. Visual errors have been fixed for the port of Fiji
◈ The Notoriety level is now accumulated quicker
◈ Players of the same military and trade union faction can no longer be boarded
◈ The ability to move and remember the position of UI elements has been added. To do this, enable the corresponding settings option, go to sea, hold down Ctrl to activate the mouse cursor, and drag the elements to the desired location
◈ The Farm near the port of Santa Marta has been replaced with a Wood Harvest Site. For current owners of the manufactory, it will remain a Farm unless it is demolished
◈ The cost of upgrading a Flotilla to a Guild has been increased. This price may be revised again in the future
◈ Premium subscription has been renamed to Captain's Seal

BUG FIXES

◈ Fixed a bug that caused a Legendary flag purchased from the Arena store to disappear
◈ Fixed issues with the durability bar "turning red". The "aggressive" status is now removed if the "Combat stance" status is not present for 3 minutes
◈ Fixed a visual error that caused one gun port to be closed on many ships. With the mortar modification installed, that issue caused one more port than intended to be closed
◈ Fixed other minor visual errors
◈ Fixed a bug that caused NPS's to yield iron at inflated rate due to an incorrect calculation formula
